Zine Class
at Red Hook Initiative

Red Hook Initiative (RHI) believes that social change to overcome systemic inequities begins with empowered youth. In partnership with community adults, they nurture young people in Red Hook to be inspired, resilient and healthy, whilst envisioning themselves as co-creators of their lives, community and society.

Red Hook Labs School teaches a bi-weekly zine-making class for RHI students (grades 6-12), in conjunction to The Point CDC, instructed by The Point CDC alumnus. The students learn how to document their neighborhood through writing about current events, taking photographs and creating collages which are featured in a self-published zine at the end of the course.
