Las Fotos Project is a community-based organization whose mission is to inspire teenage girls through photography, mentorship, and self-expression. The programs at Las Fotos Project teach girls to use cameras in order to explore their identity, learn about new cultures, build leadership and advocacy skills, and strengthen their social and emotional wellbeing. Las Fotos Project acts as a platform that elevates the voices of girls by creating a space for their ideas to be shared with their peers and the world.
Downtown Labs School facilitates a weekly photography class for Las Fotos Project students. The curriculum for this program includes visual presentations, photographic and written assignments, discussion, and critiques.
