EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHERS CONVERSATION WITH MOLLY MATALON AND CAROLINE TOMPKINS
In this series, young photographers whose work has garnered recognition in the last few years will discuss the work and its relationship to current concerns, as well as address its trajectory into the public eye. A reception will follow.
A monthly series of conversations with young artists will commence on January 26 with Molly Matalon and Caroline Tompkins discussing how their work contributes to a changing representation of sexuality. They will discuss where women’s images of men for female consumption exist in art history and in their own work, female desire and the control of the domestic space and male dominance via photography.
Saturday evening, January 26, 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM
