We are excited to announce that Red Hook Labs launches a new education initiative and appoints Stephen Frailey as their Director. Each bringing over 30 years of experience in the academic and professional communities, Stephen Frailey and Jimmy Moffat here establish an unprecedented collaboration offering a curriculum fashioned by their unique understanding of the needs of the emerging artist. As well, through their extensive network of practitioners and leaders in the fine art and applied art worlds, they are able to bring together a remarkable roster of faculty and mentors, all working at the highest levels today across not only photography and film, but also fashion, hair, and make up styling.
Labs School commences in January 2019 and will offer workshops in the following categories: intensive critique, studio lighting, large format photography, short film making, virtual reality making and a series of master workshops across multiple disciplines by artists including Taryn Simon, Laurie Simmons, Adam Fuss, Ryan McGinley, Cass Bird, Penelope Umbrico, Alastair McKimm, James Kaliardos, Jon Henry, Greg Miller, Jamie Hawkesworth, Lucas Blalock and Ferdinando Verderi.
Additional programming, events, conversations and workshops will be formulated and added weekly, so please continue to check the Red Hook Labs website regularly, as well as for Spring and Summer!
