We are pleased to announce the Open Call for Master Workshop with Penelope Umbrico. Ten applicants from this Open Call will be invited to participate in Master Workshop with Penelope Umbrico at Red Hook Labs (Brooklyn, New York). In this workshop, participants will have their work seen and discussed by Penelope Umbrico whose own work has taken a lead in addressing the proliferation and ubiquity of images in the world, the impact of the internet, and issues of originality, authorship and redundancy. Each in the workshop will have their work appraised in relation to their goals, and benefit from a conversation amongst the other participants.

Red Hook Labs is dedicated to supporting emerging talent globally and offers a multi-disciplinary curriculum of workshops, critiques, conversations and residency programs led by the most renowned image makers and industry leaders. Open to anyone seeking to enhance their career in photography, film, or fashion, Labs School provides the insight and access needed to succeed.

Applicants are invited to submit up to 20 images that they feel best represent their point of view as an artist. Ten participants will be chosen from the roster of applications; the Master Workshops application involves a $25 fee and if accepted into the workshop there is no further payment. The proceeds from the application fee help to support our non-profit community initiatives.
